our story
2016
As you may or may not know, Silva Opus HQ wasn't always filled with custom furniture and quirky designs. In fact, in February 2014, our building was subjected to a heavy flood that blanketed the Somerset Levels from December to February. The water rose to the roofline, approximately 7ft up the side of the building.
For a while, The Old Basket Works was empty and looking a little worse for wear.
Having worked from home for years, we decided it was about time we made it completely official; so, when the opportunity arose to set up shop, we decided to take the leap.
A couple of months, a few licks of paint and some repaired holes later, Silva Opus HQ was born.
We now Spend our time creating beautiful pieces of furniture for clients all over the country as we travel during the summer for wood fairs, agricultural and horticultural shows.
2019
2019 sees the first Opus Wood & Craft Fair, an annual event celebrating Woodworkers and Artists of all genres!
Chainsaw carving, fine carving and turning, street art, archery, jewellery and print making; just some of the crafts you can experience as part of OWCF.
2020
2020 marks the beginning of a new workshop, new products and new events!
